CISI - Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment was founded in 1992 by London Stock Exchange practitioners. CISI qualifications are globally recognised by a wide range of governments and their regulators. Organisations across the world are using CISI qualifications and membership to ensure that their staff possess the practical knowledge to carry out their job roles and to meet the needs of the regulators.

The wealth management industry is facing unprecedented opportunities and major challenges.  Wealth management is one of the fastest-growing areas within the financial services industry and this qualification ensures that wealth managers and advisors understand the range of assets and investment products available in the market.

The ICWIM is appropriate for staff working in private banking and wealth management roles who need to demonstrate competence through the achievement of a benchmark qualification and who want to develop a thorough understanding of how to deliver wealth management advice. Its broad focus makes it suitable for a wide audience, from new entrants to financial services, or professionals who may be interested in diversifying into wealth management.

  • The ICWIM is examined via computer-based testing and exams take place throughout the year.
  • The exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions and lasts 2 hours.
